Best wrecks witnessed where the participate

I nominate FHW this season.

I witnessed a number of serious yard sales w/ significant blunt force impacts. My nomination of Mr. FHW was for St. Powder Day Saturday when he slammed hard three runs in a row, at the same spot, on Upper Cloudspin - skiers left on the steep pitch just before the entrance to Smiley Face Traverse!

The second crash impact was a chest first, sternum to the frozen earth variety. Ouch!

The third crash was a stiff leg leading tumblersault where I mommentarily lost visual of the victum, then picked up a blur of ski tips turning into hands, poles and helment - then disappearing. I quickly gained height of land to discover Mr. FHW scurrying for goggles and poles and sticks!

Big hits!

The big man did pop right up after regaining conciseness on that second hit!

I sailed over the wall ride and landed flat on my back behind it in front of about 30 spectators and a packed Face Lift a couple weeks back. I was popping pain killers for a week afterwards.

Saw a young lady a few weeks ago headed down Lower Skyward towards Blazer's ... Apparently, she intended to stop at the lip of Blazer's with the rest of her group ... unfortunately for her ... she didn't quite make it ... the skis stopped, but her upper body didn't ... literally somersaulted head over heels off the lip and down to the bottom ... hilarious to watch, and fortunately, she got right back up and walked away!

i will vote for FHW and the attack of the christmas tree. i am just blue that i was the only witness. i have never seen chair 6 so empty--i dont get it!


honorable mention has to go to TJF and his sail over the big patch of dirt and rock this weekend. i bet he couldnt do that again if he tried.

wins hands down for the best wrecks of the weekend. that face plant on slide three was hilarious and then he followed it up with the one on lower sky. the funniest part was that he had to tell me he did a face plant, like it wasnt completely obvious by his big red wet face...hahahahaha!

Went back to slide three next run. Got to the same spot did the same exact thing. Another face plant.


Ghosty took a pretty good face plant on slide four. Same idea went over the edge, ski slid over some granite, slowed the feet down and the upper body kept moving. ski tips and face hit the snow at the same time.

Friday's wreck off the big ledge in Slide 1 was much better. Double ejection upon landing, followed by fast turning front somersault over the shelf ledge followed by second front somersault to a cold wet slush slide out!!

That was my Big One of the year! :x
