In memory of Soupy Sales

Was thinking 'bout Soupy after his death a few weeks back. Here's the deal. I need to raise 400k to build a house on my lot in LP. Once completed, I would have a huge party. Here is where the Soupy thing comes in.....for those old enough, back in the day:

Soupy was banned from the air for two weeks for telling his audience (mostly kids) to reach into their parents wallets, grab their "cabbage", and send it his way.

I would adjust this approach a bit, and just ask for donations of $1.00. Just think a "private" party invite in LP for $1.00?

Only kidding 'bout the $1.00 thing, but I would love to build the house and have the party. I will continue to play the lottery and go to work until I accumulate the "dough" to build the place.

For those doubting the Soupy story, Wikapedia him and read on. The incident occured on New Years day, probably following a wild night out.

Soupy

The land is in a development located in LP, off 86 across from the HOJOs. Kind of on the higher end, therefore in need of the big bucks.

Has anyone seen the Soupy "behind the scenes" footage? I recall seeing one clip where he opens the door and some chick is topless shaking her boobs at him. Those were the days...for him at least.

Shifting gears, I could just imagine the Pee Wee Herman"behind the scenes" footage if there is any out there. I just love his mug shot on the celebrity-mug website. A classic shot no doubt. I do have to say it was fun to watch him in those Cheech and Chong films. God only knows where he is in his "career" these days. Probably a "stand-up" comic on a porn website somewhere.

Those two crack me up. i heard they're working on a script for a new movie. While Chong looks rather crispy now days, i saw Cheech win Grand Champion on celebrity Jeopardy years ago.

i guess simply slappin a double wide on your lot would rile the neighbors. you could do the " i'm sorry. I'm sorry." routine from the same movie.

Just had long reply blow up, but here is the gist of it.

Cheech is great guy, my friend confirms after instructing he and his family at Deer Valley, UT for years. Cheech is also close friend of Geraldo Rivera, who \a close friend of mine worked for some years. Cheech would visit often but I never was around to meet him. My friend in P City took me by his place a few times to meet him, but he was off filming Nash Brdiges, etc.

Thanks for the compliment on the entertaining thing. I will be psoting often and hope to make people laugh. If I get too ridiculous, let me know. 99% of my posts will be generated while I am 100% sober. You know where it goes from there.

Honestly, when I bought the property, I was thinking dou\ble wide for as long as I could milk it out as a contruction trailer. I am sure the neighbors would be thrilled, especially the many building contractors inhabiting the subdivision full time as they do! Oh well, natural materials, minimum square footage, all = $.

Looking forward to hitting the WFM on 18 December...any every day I can possibly get there for that matter.

Looking forward to chowing down tomorrow. Ran by the Shoppette at work, walked in the door and right into a hot Gluwein tasting display with cheese and crackers. The ultimate apres-ski offering popular back in the 70s...the last time I drank it. Gues where? The Lakeside Inn, now part of the LP Hilton. First sip, my mind teleported 320 miles to the auxillary bar and entertainment area of the time, adjacent to the front desk at parking lot level. Hate tosay it again, but those were the friggin' days. I used to stay in the Homestead quite often, as I worked for a tour company and thsoe wre our digs. Lots of great memories. Like nursing hangovers in the mid-station lodge by drinking the awesome real sugar (70s) Hawaiian Punch served there. I coined the drink, "the drink of champions" seemed to work everytime. Probably was more like the frigid temps back then and the adreneline rush by those seeking the elixir which did the trick
