Great short hike - its steep but not so long. An amazing vista, looking south towards the mine there is a ridge line that the wind flatten all the trees... looks like a bomb went off..
great look at the soutwest flanks of Marcy.. get a great sense of how wild that corner of the high peaks wilderness area is..
the suspension bridge at the start over the hudson is cool.. the tahawus trail head gonna see some changes over the next couple years.

Upper Works
The Mt Adams trail head is located at the Upper Works. The Upper Works is in the Town of Newcomb - its the old Tahwus (NL Industry) mine.
exit 29 from northway - head west on the Blue Ridge Highway
the trail head is before the parking lot w/ the old buildings - just past the blast furnace.
short but very steep hike
